How long does a normal Brow Shaping take?
Normally, between 15 and 20 minutes.
My eyebrows are so blonde, I can hardly see them! Am I even a candidate for Brow Shaping?
Of course! There are a couple of options here:
1. We shape 'em and you fill 'em in. We can show you how to use an angle brush and Brow Powder that suits your hair and skin coloring to fill in your brows so they are more visible to the outside world.
2. Brow Tinting is a blessing! Using a gentle, semi-permanent dye we can tint your brows to be both more visible and compliment your hair color. This washes out gradually over 4-6 weeks. So no eyebrow roots. This works not only for blondes, but for anyone with fine brows lighter than your haircolor.
I'm a manly man and my girl says I need to get my Brows done. Are you going to make me look like a chick?
No!!! When you leave, it should look like you never had them done. Man brows should look like you just have naturally tame brows. Men need a little waxing above the brow and a good trim, usually. It's all about grooming! You cut your nose hairs, don't ya? Hopefully?!?
If you want a more metro look or even a straight-up arch, let us know. We love to do that, too.
I get huge welts whenever I wax. Does this mean I can't have my brows shaped?
We tweeze your brows into a gorgeous shape, for all the sensitive gals out there.
I use Retinol, Retin A, Accutane, Salicylic Acid, and/or Benzoil Peroxide: can I get waxed?
No!! This can lead to VERY undesirable things...like skin ripping and lifting! We can tweeze your brows, instead.
I just got a peel, and/or Microdermabrasion: can I get waxed?
No!! This can lead to bad skin reactions like skin ripping or lifting. We can tweeze your brows into a lovely shape instead.
What is a normal reaction to waxing? I am soo red!
Some of the reactions that can occur with waxing are: bruising, redness, swelling, scabbing, pimples, raw skin or rash. Usually, you are red after a waxing. Many people break out a little in that area, too.
We cover the red up before you leave the salon with our trusty Three Custom Color Concealer Pallette so you go out into the world looking gorgeous and un-red but the best thing you can do when you leave the shop is DO NOT touch the waxed area! We know it feels soft as a baby's bum, but please try to resist touching. Bacteria can lead to pimples, etc!
If you know you are prone to breakouts from waxing, let us know and we have a few tricks up our sleeve to help prevent this.
I just got my brows done. I'm gonna go hot-tubbin', okay?
No!! Please resist going hot tubbing, in a spa, pool, sauna, indoor tanning or in prolonged sun for 48 hours after your service.
Will having my Brows shaped make me look younger?
Heck, yeah! We call it an instant eye-lift. It really does open up the eye area for a younger, more-awake look.
Do you do threading?
Nope. No. Not at all:) We loooove to wax and tweeze.
I break out from waxing! What is up with that???
Some people do breakout from waxing. This is a normal, but lame, side effect sometimes.
Please let us know BEFORE we start waxing if you do breakout. There ARE things we can do to try to prevent it.
What you can do: DO NOT TOUCH your baby-soft, freshly waxed brow area!! Touching the area will get bacteria in there. Try to keep the area clean. Wiping the area down, morning and night, with something like witch hazel (we do carry this) will help, too.
